The ARRC and the Kiewit
team will perform pile driving tests next Tuesday, October 18th. The tests will
analyze two different types of pile (sheet pile and pipe), two different
installation methods (vibration and driving), and two different types of
equipment (a vibratory hammer and an impact hammer). Testing will likely occur
mid-day. You may also see equipment mobilizing to the site on Monday.
Project team members will be on-site during the testing to monitor noise and
vibration levels. We will share the results of this testing with you at a
neighbors' meeting to be held next spring.
The ARRC regrets any disturbance this testing may cause you or your neighbors.
If you have questions or concerns about the tests, please contact Mark Peterburs,
ARRC project manager, at 907-265-2366.

NRCS
The Natural Resource Conservation Service is a non
regulatory federal agency which helps landowners to address resource
concerns on their land. We are part of the Department of
Agriculture and our main focus is to offer technical assistance and help
individuals to participate in the various programs we offer. Many of these
programs provide financial assistance for implementing conservation
practices that address different environmental issues. Primarily we work
with agriculture and help people with technical assistance on practices such
as: nutrient and pest management, grazing, animal waste management,
composting facilities, high tunnels, crop rotation, and many others. We are
interested on bringing some of this information to landowners in your
community that are involved with any sort of agricultural production or
forestry, and make them aware of our programs. Please let us know if you are
interested and we will come to you to provide you all the information.
Please take some time to look at our website.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
We have just gone from a grizzly sow with spring triplets to a grizzly sow with
yearling twins, both in the Salchaket area. The Fish and Game phone number to
report encounters/problems is 459-7206.
Please note that you can be cited if you've left out garbage, feed, or other
attractants for the bears to get into. Keep your yards clean and remove food
stuff and fast food garbage from your vehicles to minimize their interest in
helping themselves. Supervise your children while they are outdoors.

To Our Neighbors and Friends, We would like to take this time to say so long
to all of our neighbors that are moving away. Saying Good-bye seems too
permanent so we would like to say Thanks to Roger and Jane Hockings for all
your input in our community. Your efforts and input shall ever remain with
us. Thanks to our Founder Melissa Wills Markgraf and her husband Fred
Markgraf for all the work they have done for the community. They have
worked and help keeping the Salcha Fair going, and then moving on from there
in 2008 to founding of Salcha’s Neighborly Organization (SNO). These
families may be leaving Salcha but they have given so much to the
community. The Markgraf family has Sponsored SNO in many ways over the
past two years they let SNO use a building on their land for SNO to have a
lending Library and public recreational room with games and pool table. We
have held public meeting in this building and held fun events. Due to the
fact your love and input in the community will not soon be forgotten. You
have reach out your hands and help many in need. You have brought Sunshine
to us on cloudy days. You have taught us so much down through the years.
We shall miss each and every one of you. We will be holding a Community
