To Whom It May Concern:
As per the conditions of the lease regarding the land leased to the Salcha Fair Association and thereby the Salcha community, this is written notification that the Salcha Fair Association has created a committee to move forward on the second phase of our long-term plans for our community.
Seven years ago we brought your office the concept of using the Salcha Fair Association to create a closer more joyful community. Success of the Salcha Fair Association to meet it’s mission statement can be measured by the increase use of the grounds and softball fields; but, also the water we supply our community and the new playgrounds that are in daily use when weather permits.
Most importantly, it can be measured in the number of smiling faces interested in assisting in creating a Salcha Community Center. We are suggesting its location on the raw land next to the parking lot situated between the new playground and Grieme Road. This will enable it to have it’s own driveway. We believe a community center is the best format to offer the most services to our neighbors. We are interested in ideas that can be unified in a multi-use facility. The suggested expansion of the S.F.A. appeal and abilities in our community include uses and services among which are a lending library, a community museum, a computer center or gaming center for teens, a meeting hall, a performance hall---who knows at this point.
February 7, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the Salcha Seniors building our community will hold the first of several meetings to be held over the next year. The main topic is regarding the idea of a community center, along with others (i.e. highway revision suggestions, scenic by-way proposal, community Art Park). With all the help and support we have received from our neighbors and our representatives we have set a timetable predicting that by next year our committee will be able to offer a full proposal fit to turn in for funds.
As always we expect to meet challenges and overcome them. If any possibilities come to mind please let us know, along with any possible pathway to circumvent them. We will continue to keep everyone notified of our process. Thank you in advance for your support, ideas and advice.
Peace,
Melissa Wills-Markgraf
