To the Editor and to Every Salcha Family:

Create a Community Center. Join us Thursday, February 7th at 7:00p.m. in the Salcha Seniors building.

The Salcha Fair Association has created a committee to move forward with the process necessary to create a community center.

We believe a community center is the best format to offer the most services to our neighborhood. We are interested in ideas that can be unified in a multi-use facility. The suggested expansion of the S.F.A.’s duties and abilities in our community include ideas among which are a lending library, a community museum, a computer center or gaming center for teens, a meeting hall, a performance hall---who knows at this point.

Neighbors, Morrie Mills and Peggy Burns were the first of many to step forward to create a new vision for the Salcha Fair Association seven years ago. With the help of neighbors, we installed a community well on the S.F.A. grounds; which we all know is useful. During the last few years, president, Peggy Burns along with more neighbors have created a beautiful little play ground with plans for expansion and a new pole building. Other neighbors have been using the softball field for soccer practice. Isn’t it nice?

February 7, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the Salcha Seniors building our community will hold the first of several meetings to be held over the next year. With all the help and support we have received from our neighbors and our representatives we have set a timetable predicting that by next year our committee will be able to offer a full proposal fit to turn in for consideration of further action.

As always we expect to meet challenges and overcome them. If any possibilities come to mind please let us know, along with any possible pathway to circumvent them. We will continue to keep everyone notified of our process. Thank you in advance for your support, ideas and advice. I look forward to seeing all of your faces.

Peace,

Melissa Wills-Markgraf
