To: All Supporters of the Salcha Community Center

In less than 3 months, 80 Salchans, (the petitions are still out) have signed their names desiring someone to create the proposed Salcha Community Center. The need is self-evident. Every Salchan agrees! Agrees on the need for a Community Center in Salcha.

Unfortunately, the Salcha Community Center will have to be reorganized under a new non-profit association. At the end of a rescheduled Fair Committee Meeting, the S.F.A. Treasurer, Chris Bums, declared that there were enough board members present to vote on disassociating the S.F.A. from the Community Center Project. Evidently, the need for accurate accounting is too much of a burden to the Salcha Fair Association. The point was made that the S.F.A. could annex the designated land for a new non-profit created for that purpose. The Community Center would still be in the same place, enabling the S.F.A. to benefit from it existence and location. The decision was passed. The Community Center Committee was wished the best of luck.

Those of us who volunteered to create a Salcha Community Center are now a little wiser. We are taking a few weeks to reorganize under a new non-profit. Already, land has been offered to be donated for the cause of a Salcha Community Center. The benefit's of leasing Borough land was that we could play with the Public Library and Public Transit Systems. There are many ideas to rethink; but the goal is the same. To create a Salcha Community Center, the 'Center of Service' in Salcha. The name of the non-profit will need to change, but not the intention.

Please, continue to contact me personally and to track our progress at Salcha.org. As some of you can guess, I will be contacting you personally to revamp the program.

Peace,

Melissa Wills-Markgraf

SFA Director and Salcha Community Center Dir.
